Hi I'm Troy

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a father of 5 children. As a family we like the outdoors. We like to camp, hike, boat, and go fishing. I am just finishing our basement so over the last while I have been able to learn about framing, wiring, plumbing, tile, and finish work. I'm a WW II buff and some of the latest books I've read on the subject are Flags of our Fathers, Fly Boys, The Longest Winter, and Unbroken.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but I'm a Mormon because I took time to learn for myself that the church is true. For me, there is no one event that converted me to the church, rather over a lifetime I've had experiences that confirm to me that my choice to be baptized was the right choice. As I have had to face challenges and problems in my life I have found hope and direction from the scriptures, the words of living prophets, and the hymns of the church. The teachings of the church have helped me be a better person, especially the Book of Mormon is a great source of hope and power in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to be a good husband and father. I try to help my wife with all of the work that it takes to raise 5 children and try to be actively involved in each of my childrens lives. I try to teach my children christian values and help them make good choices. I serve in my church by working with two other men we lead a group to help them do their home teaching and do Genealogy and Family History work.
