Hi I'm Preston

I grew up in Arizona. I love the outdoors, sports, making music, and hearing others laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Northeastern Arizona called Taylor. I graduated from Snowflake High School in 2004 and attended Northern Arizona University briefly before serving a full-time mission for the Church in the Washington Kennewick Mission. My mission means everything to me. The experiences I had I would not trade for anything. It has helped shape who I am and who I want to be. Upon the completion of my mission I returned to Northern Arizona University and graduated with a degree in Psychology in May of 2010. I am currently in grad school attending Brigham Young University in Provo, UT.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born and raised in a strong Mormon family, I choose to be Mormon. I choose to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. I choose to be Mormon because of the perspective that the Gospel of Jesus Christ as restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith gives me. I know who I am, my purpose in life, the direction I want to head and I have the means to help me return to live with my Father. As I try to emulate the Savior, though I am far from perfection, the Spirit fills me with confidence, optimism, and inner peace.

How I live my faith

I choose to attend Church on a weekly basis to strengthen and renew my commitment to following Christ and to further my Spiritual education. Over the past several years the opportunity to serve in various capacities within single student congregations has been a huge blessing to me in learning to develop the gifts and abilities that God has given to me. A big part of my responsibility was interacting with those new to the congregation and to college life in helping them feel comfortable and welcome in a new environment. I was able to share my beliefs with those not of our faith and help them to learn more and draw closer to the Lord. These experiences have brought me great satisfaction and joy in knowing that I am doing what the Lord would have me do.
