Hi I'm Tracy

I have 7 children (6 sons) and 7 grandchildren. My wife & I are partners in a hospice business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love reading, working out, visiting, and most sports. I have been a high school and college basketball referee for 27 years and love to be in the middle of competition. But more than anything, it's the interaction with my wife and family that I love. When the economy crashed, I lost my job and was unemployed for many months. Thanks to an answer to prayer, I started a new business last year and have been blessed with success.

Why I am a Mormon

The simplest answer is the church is the best vehicle I've found to bring me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. The Mormon church is led by a living prophet, just like to the prophets found in scriptures. That leadership, using the Priesthood authority of Jesus Christ, is used at all levels of the church to provide the ordinances and covenants for eternal progression. This gives me the hope and faith to try to meet and overcome the challenges and weaknesses I have in my life. I know I am a literal son of my Heavenly Father and I have the opportunity to meet and live with Him again if I use the grace of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ to make up for my shortcomings and learn the lessons He has to teach me.

How I live my faith

I love the years I've spent working with the youth of the church. I have worked with the Boy Scouts and Explorers in church-sponsored troops. Some of my best memories come from backpacking and kayaking trips with my sons and other young men in the church youth program. Most recently, my "calling" in the church allowed me to assist organizing social, recreational, and service oriented projects. We've interfaced with community organizations to complete clean-up projects, assist in parade & festival crowd control, and do set-up & tear down for community events.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families are the central organization of eternity. We all belong to the family of our Heavenly Father--we are all brothers and sisters. In this life, we have the chance to create love and togetherness through earthly families. We can continue to experience the love of both of these families in the next life if we try our best to be good fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers. We should give the very best of ourselves to our families and put them in the highest priority position in our lives. Show more Show less

Who founded Mormonism and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

As in ancient times, God chose a young man named Joseph Smith to re-establish His church. He saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, which is the basis of my belief--that I am a son of a Heavenly Father and that Jesus Christ is the savior of the world. He also translated the Book of Mormon from ancient writings, which combines with the Bible to testify of Jesus Christ. While I respect and admire his obedience and courage, I do not worship Joseph Smith or the living prophets who have followed him. Show more Show less
