Hi I'm Summer

I love to learn, I'm awful at telling jokes, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent college graduate and I love to learn. Although I may be done with school, I plan on using the rest of my life to continue learning. My formal education has been a great experience for me but I also enjoy learning in less formal atmospheres. I love to read, to talk, to ponder, and to experience and to get to know more and more about all that this wonderful life has to offer each of us.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was really young, my family attended the Roman Catholic church but for most of my childhood, my family wasn't religiously active. I had a lot of Mormon friends growing up but it wasn't until the end of high school that I really started to learn about more than just the social aspects of the church. I am a Mormon because it makes sense. I always had so many unanswered questions and the truths contained in the Gospel have provided such peace and understanding that was always missing. I am a Mormon because I know that God has a plan for each of us and that His plan is the ultimate happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by the minute. The goal of this life is to grow closer to God and I know that that takes time, patience, and practice so I live my faith by constantly trying to be a better me. I know that I am not perfect but I also know that through my good choices I can get closer to perfection and through my bad choices, I can experience the love of God if I am humble. I know that Christ loves me and that because of Him, I can be forgiven of all my mistakes so I live my faith by making the best choices I can each minute and by learning from the times that I make bad ones.

What is the Relief Society?

Summer
The Relief Society is a world-wide women's organization that every woman 18 and older is invited to join. We meet every Sunday as part of our church meetings to learn more about the gospel and enrich one another. The Relief Society also holds meetings outside of the regular Sunday meetings during which we get to know one another better through a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, how-to classes, serving in the community, and, of course, enjoying great food. I first came to church when I was 18 years old and instantly fell in love with the Relief Society. The women are so caring and love to uplift one another. I have learned a lot through Relief Society activities that has benefited me both spiritually and temporally. Show more Show less
