Hi I'm Nicole

I grew up in Utah and lived in Idaho and Japan. I am a recreational therapist for at risk teens. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a recreational therapist with at risk teens in a day treatment program. I love quilting, running, making pottery, hiking, and backpacking. My greatest wish would be to visit every country in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

At age 16 I saw a video about Jesus Christ and I realized that he lived and suffered for all people. Once I realized that truth I knew that this was the correct church. I could not deny the joy I felt when I knew that Jesus Christ knew me and loved me. Today I still have this testimony that Jesus Christ is our Savior. Because Joseph Smith went into a garden to pray we can know that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father exist and that this Church is true.

How I live my faith

I live my life by serving others. I enjoy seeking out friends wherever I am. I organize monthly activities for women that teach religious principles, how to strengthen families, and to be self reliant.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Nicole
When I think of the importance of the atonement in my life I think of this scripture:“Woman why weepiest thou...Jesus saith unto her, Mary…. I ascend unto my Father, and your father; and to my God and your God”(St John 20:15). On that glorious morn the Saviors simple plea to his children shows that he has not left us alone. His words of comfort were given to Mary are from the resurrected Lord declaring that he lives. These simple words teach of the compassion and the power of the atoning sacrifice. The Savior suffered for our sins and physical pains which is called the Atonement. These words teach that even though we weep there is one who addresses all of us individually, the Savior knows our name. This scripture teaches of the enduring and all encompassing power of the Atonement. It has the power to heal our souls and stop our weeping. Jesus knows who we are and he knows the Father who is our God. The Atonement of Christ makes it possible for us to overcome suffering resulting from mistakes, sins, and physical suffering.
