Hi I'm Heidi

I'm a sister and a daughter. I'm a California girl. I love the Dominican Republic and basketball. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just finished graduate school a year ago and now work for the government assisting with public policy. I served as a missionary for the Church in the Dominican Republic for a year and a half. I love friends and my family. I also love going to California to see my family and go to the beach. I enjoy running and basketball and dancing. I also love to learn about other cultures and politics.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that it is true. I was raised as a Mormon and have had experiences throughout my life that have personally shown me that the things I have learned are true. One experience happened while I was attending college and taking a class to prepare to serve a mission for the Church. I knew that as a missionary I would be sharing the story of how Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, and how Christ's church was restored through Joseph Smith. I really wanted to know for myself if that was true. I prayed, studied and studied some more. One morning, as I was reading Joseph Smith's account of when God and Jesus Christ appeared to him, I was filled with the greatest feeling of joy and surety that it was true-that they did appear to him, that he was called to be a prophet and that Christ's true church was restored through him. I then got to go on a mission and share that truth with people every day! It was amazing! Being a Mormon and living the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me true and lasting happiness. My family has been blessed with greater unity and love. It helps me to understand my purpose and provides answers to my questions. It helps me overcome trials and challenges. It also helps me to draw closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ, and to Heavenly Father and I can feel their love in my life. The knowledge I have of them and the love that I feel from them brings peace to my life.

How I live my faith

My faith constantly motivates me to become better in every aspect of my life. I currently have been asked to help others who are interested in learning more about the Church, those who may be struggling with their faith and those who are new members of the Church. I also visit other women in my ward to share and to serve with them.
