Hi I'm Kylie

I'm 21, an EMT, future physician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been a pre-med student for the past three years, but have decided to put that dream on hold as I serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Germany. My mission will last 18 months, and when I return, I will finish up my bachelor's degree and apply to medical school. I am the middle child of three kids and love spending time with my family. In my free time, I love going to the gym, running races, and watching chick flicks.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it has given me the knowledge that I am a daughter of God. I know who I am and that I lived with God before I came to earth. I know that there is life after death and that families can be sealed together for all eternity. Knowledge of this has helped me as I have lost loved ones and dealt with the death and tragedy I have seen throughout my time as an EMT. Being a Mormon has helped me to really learn that Jesus is my Savior. I know that through His atoning sacrifice, I can be forgiven of my sins and return to live our Heavenly Father again. Although I was raised Mormon, I gained a testimony for myself. When I was about 12 years old, I decided I needed to know if this was the true church. I figured the best way to figure that out was to dive right into the information and pray about it. I started studying the Book of Mormon and Bible every day and began to feel differently. I was more at peace and felt full of love and light. I finished reading the Book of Mormon and prayed about it to know if it was true. I didn't have some overwhelming answer, but felt peace and light once again when I prayed about it. I was able to see how I had been changing for the better since I began studying my scriptures. I knew that it was true. I have continued this habit of daily scripture study to this day and consider it the highlight of my day. I know that this is the only church with complete truth on the earth and desire for all people to be able to feel the peace that the gospel brings. This is why I am giving up a year and a half of my life to serve others and bring them this same joy!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to follow the example of the Savior who lived a life of service. I have found that my greatest joys in life come when I am serving others. I volunteer as an EMT with my local fire department and LOVE every second of it. We show up on people's worst days. I love being a source of comfort to people in their time of need. I always try leave people better than I found them and pray for ways to serve others in my daily life. Along with trying to live a life full of service, I live my faith by attending church weekly and studying the scriptures daily. I pray regularly and try to live my life following the Savior's example.
