Hi I'm Jana

I'm a Mormon. I'm a stay at home mom of 2 boys. I was born and raised in Utah.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom of 2 boys. I worked for 11 years as a medical assistant. I enjoy scrapbooking, and camping, hiking, running and spending time with my family. I currently run my own business from my home by working with a national direct sales company. I love to cook and share that with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised by parents who were Mormon and we participated in church regularly. As a teenager I no longer felt a need or connection to God. After a few years of living my life away from the gospel and influences I knew I was unhappy and something was missing from my life. It was that something that had been instilled in me as a child. I am a Mormon because of the values it instills in my life. Though my life has had it's up's and down's I felt truly "converted" to the religion of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) just a few years ago when I went through some personal issues. I tried to find solace in the world around me, tried to find a place with other friends and people who seemed to have it all and be so happy. What I found was that my real happiness came from God and Jesus Christ. Though I have friends of other faiths I know that the LDS (Mormon) faith has all the things I need to keep my life in full persepctive. The morals and deeper doctrines we believe have come to have complete meaning in my life. I truly know that our Father in Heaven loves each of us as an idividual. That God is not a non-human entity but a loving, kind Father who created us each in His image and knows our needs. The Atonement is a beautiful and rich blessing in my life and can be found amongst Jesus Christ's teachings in the Bible but also a further understanding of Christ's life and purpose is expanded in The Book of Mormon, of which was translated by a simple man, called of God, Joseph Smith, for the purpose of bringing God's children home.

How I live my faith

I work with others in my ward as a Ward Missionary. I visit with those who are less active members of the church and those you are non-members. We work with the full-time missionaries to share the gospel and messages of our faith with others. We set up visits and activities to get to know all those in our neighborhood and ward. I also participate in our ward choir, where I am able to feel the spirit of God and share through music my love and testimony for Jesus Christ and God.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jana
Just as you go to school to learn certain subjects, you find the truths of those subjects by studying them in their element. For example to know certain ideas of science are true, you must study things with a scientific mind. Likewise you can know Mormonism is true by studying it through it's means, which is the Spirit of God. It is the feelings of peace, comfort, clarity and happiness you will feel as you learn more about Mormons, attend their church meetings, where we share with each other the feelings we have felt. By reading The Book of Mormon and then quietly, simply, asking God if what you have studied is true. You will feel in your heart and in your sould the truthfulness of what you have learned. You must listen carefully and allow there to be reflective, quiet time to listen to how you really feel. I know you will be given the truth by this method. Show more Show less
