Hi I'm Barrett Edgington

I'm a family man. I'm a tech startup guy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have the best family in the world - four siblings and in-laws, nine nieces and nephews, two wonderful parents, and a wife who exemplifies Christlike attributes better than anyone else I know. For better or worse I grew up in Utah Valley, which is an area I love. Through my professional endeavors I have lived in various cities throughout the US and currently reside in Los Angeles. Of all the beautiful places in the world my favorite is Lower Mesa Falls, just outside of Island Park, Idaho. It is there that, for me, time stands still and I feel closest to God.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for two primary reasons. First, it teaches doctrines and principles that I believe to be true. Second, it provides an organizational structure that allows me to actively practice living a Christian lifestyle. The principles taught in church are remarkably simple; for example, being kind, honest, and forgiving. It also teaches profound truths, such as eternal progression with families and repentance made possible through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The principles and doctrines I have learned as a member of the church have anchored my life. I want nothing more than to be worthy of the gift of Christ's atonement so I can be with my family for eternity. Because the church relies heavily upon the members to operate the local organizations within each congregation, service opportunities are a readily available and everyone's help is needed. Through these service opportunities I am able to put into practice the teachings I believe to be true. Members of the church are frequently seen teaching lessons, spending time with youth groups, supporting those with spiritual and temporal needs, and even loading moving vans. Being a part of a church that truly practices what it preaches is a remarkable blessing.

How I live my faith

I am an imperfect individual striving daily to live up to the perfect nature of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. With no professional clergy in the church, members of the congregation serve in what are we refer to as "callings". My current calling is to work with the men in the congregation. Together we teach one another, minister to all the members of congregation, and strive to be better disciples of Jesus Christ. It is a wonderful blessing to be able to work with amazing individuals who are also striving to become better men. My hope is to be a source of truth and light for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all those around me.
