Hi I'm Guy

I grew up in Pennsylvania with great parents and a close knit extended family. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 24 years to my best friend and sweetheart. We have three great kids, two dogs, and a cat. I enjoy flyfishing, camping, backpacking, golf, and shooting sports. I couldn't imagine life without knowing my Savior, Jesus Christ and following his example the best I can. My family is everything to me. Knowing that I will be with them forever makes this mortality ever more sweet.

Why I am a Mormon

In my early 20's, while serving in the military, I began seriously considering my purpose. Why was I here, what was I going to do after the military? I was confused and afraid. One day I was having a particularly difficult time and angrily I shouted out to God “Why am I here, what am I doing here?” I went to the Lutheran church service, sat in the congregation, listened to pastor and felt absolutely nothing. I attended a non-denominational church service, a Jewish Synagogue with a friend, and a Catholic Mass feeling the same emptiness. I worked with someone who I knew was a member of the Mormon Church. I asked him to tell me about those "Mormons". I soon found myself being taught the discussions by him with help from other members of the church on base. You see there were no missionaries in our area. I learned to pray and felt peace and comfort like I have never before experienced. God never gives up on us. It has been my blessing to have been lead over many years to find His Church. I have a wonderful wife who loves the Lord. Together with our Father in Heaven we have created a family and have taught them in the ways of the Lord and to love Him. The family is an eternal unit ordained of God. I testify that God lives, Jesus is the Christ, the Book of Mormon is the word of God and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the only true church on the earth with the fullness of the Gospel. Our family is eternal, my wife and I have been sealed together for time and all eternity along with our children. I could not imagine living my life with those whom I love and cherish so dearly to have that end with death. God is all knowing and loves us so deeply He wants us to be together forever, not "until death us do part". I don't ever want to be apart from my wife and children. Being separated from those I love after this mortal life would be an eternity of tears.

How I live my faith

I"ve been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 26 years. In that time I have served in varied youth organizations as a mentor, teacher, or leader. I have always enjoyed working with the youth. I also enjoy visiting with my friends and neighbors. It doesn't matter to me if they are of my faith. Good people are everywhere. I try to look for or anticipate needs of my friends and neighbors that I may be of service.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?
