Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a Mormon. I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since was 18.

About Me

I'm a stay at home mom. I have three children but only one is still at home. My daughter lives in Utah and is working and going to school. I have two sons, one is serving a mission in England and the other is in high school. I've lived all over the U.S.A and I've had the opportunity to do some travelling. I love seeing new places and learning about how people live all over the world. I think we all have much more in common than we have differences. I've enjoyed different hobbies throughout my life. I like to be creative whether it's cooking, scrapbooking, crafts or just fixing up our home. I like to read. I also love geneaology and family history.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always believed in God and Jesus Christ. I'm the youngest of five children and I did a lot of listening to my older siblings, probably because I couldn't get a word in edgewise. I remember they would sometines talk about spiritual things like what happens to us when we die. I was quite a bit younger than my siblings so I wasn't usually in on the discussion but I definitely thought about what I heard. I think we were all searching for something. Our family went to church but mostly I remember going to church on Easter or Christmas. I remember being iin a Sunday School class when I was probably about 5 years old and the teacher showed us a picture of Jesus Christ. She asked if we knew who it was and I remember knowing who Jesus Christ was. He was very familiar to me. As I grew a little older I attended church with friends once in a while. I also went to some activities or Bible study groups. None of the churches ever felt right. I remember going to a friends house for a Bible study group. It seems like we had to get permission from our parents. I don't remember anything specific that I learned there but I do remember that it just didn't feel right and it left me feeling confused. I will have to continue this story a little later.

How I live my faith

I am a visiting teacher and a visiting teaching supervisor in my ward right now. Visiting Teaching is a program where each sister over 18 is visited each month. As a visiting teacher I have a companion who I go with to visit two sisters each month. As a Visiting Teaching Supervisor I have a group of sisters who I assist if they need help visiting teaching. I've served in many capacities over the years. I've worked with children on Sundays or weekday activities, cub scouts. I've helped with activities and classes for the ladies in the ward. Our family attends church each Sunday. Our children have participated in the weeknight activities for youth. Our youngest son is currently the president of his group of young men. Our oldest son is currently serving a full time mission in England. We miss him a lot but are so happy that he chose to serve a mission. We're grateful that he is searching for people who are searching for the gospel of Jesus Christ.
