Hi I'm Greg

I'm a Strategic Account Manager in a technology company, and a part-time personal trainer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to the most wonderful girl in the world for 26 years and have 4 amazing children. I enjoy weightlifting, racquetball, and occasionally participate in theater productions. Professionally I am a Strategic Sales Accounts Manager in the network security services field, and graduated from university with a Spanish Translation major and Music minor.

Why I am a Mormon

In the 1950s a precious little girl invited another little girl to something called Primary. The invitee was my mother at age 8 or younger. She felt something beautiful and felt that she needed to join the LDS (or Mormon) Church. And so I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and always felt something joyful when considering the story of Joseph Smith and his precious vision. I have had many poignant experiences with the power of prayer, and received countless answers from Heavenly Father both directly through powerful thoughts, feelings and experiences; as well as indirectly through others or situational events. I feel powerfully a beautiful and pervasive spirit when I read the Book of Mormon, which testifies of Jesus Christ in a clear and concise way, and also complements the Bible when read and understood together. This powerful spirit compels me to testify that Jesus Christ lives as a resurrected being, and that he knows me, loves me, and is aware of my successes and failures alike. That same spirit that I feel regarding the events experienced by Joseph Smith compels me to testify that Jesus Christ has established his church again upon the earth, and with it a prophet, apostles, and keys of priesthood. There is so much more I want to say, but the rest is yours to explore with honest, open study and prayer. Trust that there is a God in Heaven, the Father of your spirit, who hears and answers prayers and will answer yours regarding the Book of Mormon and your questions.

How I live my faith

I am what's called an "Advisor" in our Young Men's Organization, which is for young men ages 12-18. I am assigned specifically with the young men who are 16 to 18, also referred to in our faith as priests. I teach them on alternating Sundays as well as go on camping trips and activities with them. I try to set a good example and help them to prepare to serve a mission for the church when they are 19 years old.

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Greg
I always tell people that temples are different than our Sunday houses of worship. In temples, husbands and wives are sealed together for time and all eternity, and if they live up to their covenants this will bind their families together in the eternities. All of the sacred ordinances in the temple are related to that. They are beautiful buildings and are that way to remind us of our Heavenly Father's home and what we have to look forward to.
