Hi I'm Bryan

I'm a father, husband, and educator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Plano, Texas and have lived here most of my life. I graduated from Plano East Senior High School and received degrees from Brigham Young University and the University of North Texas. Growing up I loved playing sports -- especially basketball and volleyball. Going to a large high school, I was never good enough to make the school basketball team or to get much playing time in football, so I ended up just playing in recreational leagues. I am blessed with a wonderful wife and 5 children. My chosen career is that of an educator. I work with children in grades K-5 and it is a blessing to work with those individuals and to teach and learn from them.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it helps me to stay grounded and have faith in God and his son Jesus Christ. Even though I was born a member of the church, there have been times that I have struggled to always believe and follow the doctrine. As with everyone, I had to build a personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ to have a testimony of being a member of this faith. What I have found over the past few years, as I strive to follow the example that Christ set while on this earth, is that being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints provides me a solid foundation in faith that I need to maintain the happiness I hope for that can only be found through the atonement of Jesus Christ and the gospel he preached for His father while He was on the earth. I know first hand the the atonement is real. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ know each of us as individuals. They love us. Great peace and joy is found as one follow's Christ's doctrine. This doctrine is found in the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

Over the last 25 years, I have been blessed to serve a Mission for the church in Chicago, Illinois and work with spanish speaking individuals. Through my participation in the church, I have served as a Boy Scout Leader, Youth Leader, teacher for 11 year-old youth, and currently teach early morning seminary. As a father, I have participated as a coach for various basketball and soccer teams. Spending time with my children helps me better understand the relationship between Heavenly Father and his children.
