Hi I'm Jim

I am a husband and father of six children. I am also a registered nurse.

About Me

My father was a career Marine so I grew up all over the country. Family and friends are very important to me. My children are all graduated from high school so my wife and I are "empty nesters." We enjoy our children and 5 grandchildren. I have an advid intrest in photography and computers. I like to travel and have recently visited Australia. My wife and I have also visted Germany several times and many places in the United States.

Why I am a Mormon

Simply put, I am a Mormon because I have prayed with real intent, to God, to know the truth. I believe he has revealed this to me. I continue to have validation by the Holy Ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's Church on earth. Not that I think that every other church is entirely wrong, but that this Church was established by God and not man or men. That knowledge along with the confirmation by the Holy Ghost witnesses that that we have the fullness of the Gospel or the Gospel in it's pure form.

How I live my faith

I live according to the teachings of Jesus Christ, so it is important to me that I worship Heavenly Father and Jesus Chirst every day. This means that I pray to God every day and go to church every Sunday. At work I show my faith by helping my organization to be successful and I try to show my coworkers and patients that they are important to me. I also try to help other members of the church when they are in need, but it is just as important to me to help my friends and neighbors who don't believe as I do.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Abortion is a topic that has been so politically muddied that it would be difficult to convince anyone where they should stand on the issue. The Church's positon is that abortion is wrong except in the cases of rape or incest. Debate about this postion would not be productive. Only a personnal appeal to God with a true desire to know of God if one should ascribe to this postion would give one the conviction to follow it. This is not only true with regards to this issue, but all issues of faith. I personnally find the Church's postion common sense. Show more Show less
