Hi I'm Catherine

I'm a mother , a Registered Nurse, a wife to the greatest man on Earth and a MORMON !

About Me

I'm a single mother of one adult son. I live in a town so small, it's classified a village. I love to spoil people and let them know they "count" in this wild world. I am a Registered Nurse and work in the field of home health nursing. I am blessed to have the opportunity to go into the homes of our most valuable asset, our senior citizens. I enjoy having the chance to visit with them and help them return to health. I love small gatherings, family/friend bar-b-ques/crawfish boils, nights of trivia, and quiet evenings at home. I do enjoy the outdoors, being on the water, hiking, and any spontaneous adventure. I cherish time spent with my son, nieces and nephews. I love my family with all my heart. Children and the elderly bring out the best in me. The greatest things in life are FREE...

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I was previously Catholic. As I took the missionary discussions the pure and simple truths of the gospel jumped out at me. It brought such joy to my heart. Things need to make sense to me as I investigated the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the truths began to emerge in a profound way. It is so comforting to read something , hear something and know the Holy Spirit is there to guide me. The knowledge of God's plan.... "The Plan of Happiness" is priceless and all things begin to make sense and fall into their proper order. I can see the church as Jesus Christ established it. I can see the purity of the Gospel. I was baptized in 2003.. during a time when I had no intention of changing my life as a practicing Catholic. I am so thankful for my amazing journey so far.. I can see the fruit of Christ's church and it is good. You owe it to yourself to at least read the Book of Mormon and investigate the church. I testify to you, if you read The Book of Mormon and/or take the missionary discussions , with a desire to know the truth..the Spirit will manifest it to you in the most remarkable way. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ...... Amen

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by trying to live the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and serving others. The gospel is the road map as well as a path of progression back to our Heavenly Father. I am thankful for the atoning sacrifice of my Savior, Jesus Christ - which allows me to repent of my sins, be forgiven and return to my Father in Heaven. I try to share the gospel as much as possible. When someone finds a great recipe, they want to share it. I have found the recipe to happiness in this life and the life to come. With much enthusiasm, I want all to have it, taste it..... be blessed by it.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

I could write a novel with regard to the gift of the Holy Ghost. It's my favorite subject. I will start by saying until I joined the church , I did not have an understanding of the Holy Ghost. I was floored when I first experienced what it felt like to have the Holy Ghost as my companion. It is so comforting to know the Holy Ghost is there for me when I seek answers to questions, need confirmation or guidance with regard to decisions. The Holy Ghost has prompted me to act with regard to family situations. It is an amazing gift which I wish I could transfuse into all. The Holy Spirit testifies of truths to us, tells us when we are slipping ofF the path. A person only needs to desire to seek the truth and the Spirit will begin to work in their life. It is sad to know that many rely on the intelligence of man to guide them. I did not join the church because of anything anyone taught me..but, by listening to that still, small voice. What is the priesthood?

The Priesthood is as strong today as it was when Jesus Christ walked the Earth, simply because He still directs and leads the priesthood as He did then. All male members of the church who are prepared receive the priesthood which is the "authority" to act in God's name. The priesthood is not a title. The priesthood is bestowed upon men of the church by the laying on of hands and in the name of Jesus Christ. This "authority" and power to act in God's name is conditional upon the state of "worthiness" of the men who hold it. All men are taught they are to stay as to be prepared to t utilize their priesthood to help those around them. Fathers preside over their family with the ability to give blessings to their wives and children, to perform sacred ordinances such as baptism and to accept and successfully fulfill callings within the church. Those holding the priesthood are taught to remember they represent Jesus Christ at all times and to act as the Savior would have them act at all times, being kind, loving, charitable, etc. Show more Show less
