Hi I'm Brooke

I grew up in Idaho. I'm an Elementary Teacher and I love being a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I were recently married. I enjoy running half marathons, participating in triathlons, and staying as active as possible. I love anything to do with music, whether it be guitar, piano, vocals and dancing.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have grown up in the Mormon faith, it wasn't until about age 11 that I truly became converted to its truthfulness. I had some doubts of what my parents were teaching me. I wanted to know for myself if Joseph Smith truly saw God the Father and Jesus Christ. I yearned to know if the Book of Mormon was true. I sought direction from Heavenly Father through earnest prayer. As I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon was true, if Joseph was a prophet, I felt a deep burning sensation throughout my entire body. I felt so much happiness and I knew that it was true. Each day I strive to keep that testimony alive. I strive to learn more of Jesus Christ, dive deeper into His teachings. Every day I strive to become better. God does live. He has a plan for us. He yearns for us to come Home to Him. He has given us prophets to teach us, to guide us, and to point us the way back to Him. The Book of Mormon brings us closer to Christ. The Bible and Book of Mormon work hand in hand to bring us the fullness of His love. Prayer is real, and you will receive answers as you ask in faith.

How I live my faith

Currently I visit teach 4 sisters within my church. We do monthly visits to each women, befriend them, and provide any service they may need. I also am the music conductor in our Sacrament Meeting. Teaching is a love of mine so I keep busy teaching the women in my church. Once a month I prepare a 50 minute lesson to teach the women that are ages 18-100. I love it!

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

It is an everyday thing. We begin and end our day with prayer. We seek guidance from Heavenly Father through studying the scriptures daily. We spend time with our family, because we know it is the most important thing. We aren't perfect, so we continually repent by praying, taking the sacrament at church weekly, and changing our old habits. We believe service is a key component to understanding the Savior, as He was full of Charity. We strive to be worthy to attend the temple, where we make covenants with God. We find joy in doing God's will. And of course, we live normal lives...going to work, being a mother, attending soccer games, BBQ's, and just enjoying life. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

By reading the Book of Mormon, Bible and other scriptures I have come to know Christ. I have felt of His love as I learn more of Him. I also learn from the prophets of old. They were human like us, who grieved, loved, and were striving to be better. It's neat to learn of their faithfulness in times of tribulation. Show more Show less
