Hi I'm Michelle Wood

I'm a Mormon. I live in Canada.

About Me

I am a single woman. I have six lovely children. I really enjoy reading, watching movies and spending time with my family. As my kids are now mostly grown up I am enjoying the addition of in laws to the family!!

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 19 years old my friends Dad passed away. I believed in Heaven but I really had no concept of what life was like after death and was a bit scared of the unknown. I talked to a friend that I knew that was a member of the church. She asked if I wanted to know more. I said yes. She introducted me to the missionaries. They taught me many things but the most important thing to me at that time was the knowledge that families can be together forever. You see I had a small brother pass away when he was only eight and I wanted to be with him again. I was excited. I loved learning about Joseph Smith and how he restored the church in the latter days. I loved the music. I loved the people who just accepted and loved me. I joined the church in March of 1983. It was a wonderful decision for me. During the most difficult times in my life the Gospel has been my constant. Never changing. I always know that my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ love me. I am grateful for all they have done for me. I am gratful to have a prophet on the earth today to guide us and give us encouragement. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I enjoy visiting teaching! I am also a primary teacher on Sunday and I love the kids!!!!

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Michelle Wood
Not everyone is required to serve a mission. Like all things in the church a mission is a personal decision. It is a decision that requires much prayer. Those who do choose this route are usually very happy and make lifelone memories and learn valuable skills while serving. Show more Show less
