Hi I'm Daniel Monzello

I was raised in Azusa California. I love spending time with my family and friends. I know God loves each of us. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was married to my wonderful wife in 2010. We have a 2 year old son and expecting number 2 (a little girl) soon! Like many others, I find it a challenge to balance family, church, work, school, exercise, and all the other facets of life. Although a challenge I feel the Lord giving me strength and making me a better person. I love life! The outdoors have been a part of me throughout my life. I find such beauty all around us. If we just slow down we can realize that God's hand is everywhere. I think I love sunsets the best. As a teenager I would often climb on our roof where I would watch the sun fall. I was in awe! It was as if the Lord was telling me to not worry and that he would be back to give light in my life. Besides the outdoors I enjoy music, technology, family history, singing, playing the guitar, collecting quarters, visiting national parks, photography, and a lot of other things I wish I had more time for. I'm grateful for a wonderful job that allows me to provide for my family. My family brings me the greatest joy! I would be so lonely without them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised going to church. As a little child I knew God existed and loved me. I had a deep sense of belonging as a child. When I was a teenager the missionaries came to our home and asked if they could share with us the message of the Prophet Joseph Smith, the same lesson they taught those who are not members of the church. As they taught I felt a presence in the room. I knew that presence was a member of the Godhead. The Holy Spirit came to me and testified that what the missionaries taught about the Prophet Joseph Smith was true. Since that time I have felt the Spirit's presence again and again in my life as I have prayed. Having that presence in my life is why I'm a Mormon. There is no greater joy then feeling God's presence. It is an overwhelming blanket of love and security. As I continue to follow the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and keep the commandments I continue to feel that presence.

How I live my faith

I love serving at church. I find great satisfaction being apart of others lives. I have been able to witness peoples lives change for the better. The better meaning, they have greater peace, perspective, and meaning in their own lives. Being a part of that process is a witness to me that God lives and that he loves us. One of my responsibilities at church includes, teaching and uplifting other men to be better individuals, husbands, and fathers. I also have a responsibility to care for a couple families from our congregation. I will be there for those families if they have any needs. I visit with them at least monthly getting to know them and their needs. I learn from them and feel their strength as we visit. Other things that I try to do to live my faith is lead our family in daily scripture study and family prayer. In addition to that I personally study the scriptures and pray daily. As I do these things I feel like I can accomplish any challenge that comes my way. When I don't read as consistently then my spirit suffers. As a family we also try to have a weekly family night where we gather together and sing, have a lesson about Jesus Christ, have and activity and pray. Another fun thing we have done is family history. As we research our ancestors, we not come to learn about them but find out who we are.
