Hi I'm Clint

I grew up in a small town in Eastern Utah. I have a PhD in chemical engineering. I love my family.

About Me

I work in a small engineering company. I love to ski, mountain bike, fly fish, road bike, play soccer and basketball. I've been married for 11 years and have 4 small children. I bike to work frequently. I'm really grateful for the land I live in, the freedoms I enjoy, and the health of my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the Book of Mormon. I started reading the book when I was in Junior High. I felt deeply that the book was from God. I read about King Benjamin, an ancient prophet on the American Continent, who said that "when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God." I felt that was true along with the other simple Christian doctrines taught in the Book of Mormon. I followed the good that was taught to me by my reading the book and the feelings I had. I volunteered at a nursing home in high school where I frequently visited with the people there. It brought me joy and peace to follow the example of Jesus Christ, in the simple ways I knew how.

How I live my faith

The last two years I've volunteered as a soccer coach for the city recreational league where my boys play. As part of my church activities, I visit the homes of 3 friends on a monthly basis to help out in any way that I may be needed. I also am part of the leadership of the mens organization and help organize events and service projects. We recently helped clear dead wood at a boy scout camp in the mountains of Central Utah.

What do Mormons believe happens to us after we die? What do Mormons believe about life after death?

As a Mormon, I believe that there is life after death. My father died when I was 21, just after I got married. I was very close to him and miss him dearly. We used to go fly fishing together. He would cheer for me when I played basketball. Although I can't see him or hear him anymore, I believe his spirit exists and that someday I will get to see and hear him again. I believe that although my fathers body is buried in the cemetery, his spirit exists in a state of peace and happiness. I also strongly believe that one day, because of Jesus Christ and his resurrection that he'll his spirit and body will again reunite to never again be separated. I'm so excited by that. Life after death will be a continuation of the lives we live here in so far if we're happy, we'll be happy there. If we choose to do good things here in this life, good things will be restored to us there. If we desire to learn, we'll be able to continue to learn. There is so much I don't know about plants and animals and people and the history of the universe that I really look forward to learning after this life. Show more Show less
