Hi I'm Ron

I'm a soldier in the US army and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of five with a wonderful wife. My family means the world to me even if I'm required to leave them on occasion.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that God is my Father and Jesus Christ is His Son. There is no denying it. I know that they love us so perfectly that they designed a plan for our eternal happiness. That plan, in its fullness, was revealed unto us, by them, through the prophet, Joseph Smith. The doctrine they revealed unto him and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints they restored through him are true. I've confirmed this in my life by living according to those teachings and putting them to the test. I've felt the joy in my life that can only come from living as God commands us to live. There's no denying the source. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try my hardest to be a good and loving husband and father. I do my best to be an example of the Savior in all of my daily activities. Obeying the commandments and serving my fellow men are the focus of my day to day actions.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Ron
OK. Now it's time to get perfectly and brutally honest with yourself. Do some introspection and answer honestly. Are you perfect? Am I perfect? Is there anybody in the history of the world, save Jesus Christ, who has lived a perfect life? I promise you the answer to all of the above questions is no! Yet, our Father in Heaven demands perfection. How can this be? He knows we're incapable of being perfect. So, how could he demand perfection of us. It would be like asking one to hold onto a tree on one side of the Grand Canyon and reach across to the other. But our Father is not unjust, unfair, or uncaring. Because of His perfect love for us, He provided His perfect Son, Jesus Christ, who, through his perfect life and perfect atoning sacrifice, bridges any chasm that comes between our most flawed effort towards perfection and the actual perfect standard established by the Father. If we will only believe in him, come unto Him, and live as He asks, He will lift us to perfection. Through Christ and the Atonement he made for us, we can be, yes, perfect!! This is why it was necessary for God, who loves His Son dearly, to offer him as a sacrifice for all the rest of His children (us) who He also loves, just as dearly. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Ron
A resounding YES!!! I know this is true. If we live the way our Father in Heaven has designated and commanded us to live, we will live together forever with Him and His Son, Jesus Christ. This is the motivation for every good thing I do in my life. I love my Father and His Son for making this possible. How sad it would be if we were to wade through trials and afflictions in this life, learning to love and cherish each other, as a family, only to be torn apart by death. That wouldn't be fair, and is not going to happen. The "sting of death" and separation is entirely "swallowed up in Christ." If we'll just come unto Him and be true disciples, this precious gift will be ours to claim. Show more Show less
