Hi I'm Nancy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of seven children, three boys and four girls. I am a Grandmother to twenty-two grandchildren, 9 boys and 13 girls. All but two of our grandchildren live close by the other two live out of state. I am a seamstress. I do alterations and construction of new clothing, from Wedding dresses, to Irish Dance Costumes, to Singing group costumes, to baby clothes for grandchildren. I favorite type of sewing however is Quilting. I really enjoy making Quilt tops. I also enjoy crossstitch, crochet, and knitting, and a little tatting, which I learned from my Grandma . I enjoy working in the garden. I have a large collection of Iris, which I got from my Mother. I also grow a small garden in the summer to make sure I have fresh tomatoes, and peppers. I use to can a lot but haven't done much lately. I love to travel. I have been fortunate enough to travel to the Mediterrian to visit Italy, Greece, Turkey, and Croatia and Spain. I also like to travel by car to visit friends and family. I like to sing and I play the piano. I was the church organist for 15 years. I loved that calling. I also like to cook, especially for family gatherings.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the chruch. Both of my parents were members at the time of my birth. Throughout my life I have had challenges that have tested my faith but I always chose to follow the teachings of the church and remained faithfull. I have a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and in the fact that we have a prophet on the earth today, and that the Church is lead by Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have worked for the elections (state and national) for a number of years and in many states. In the church I have worked with the youth and in the women's organization and playing the piano for the children and the organ for the whole congregation. Most recently I and my special needs daughter worked with the children ages eighteen months to three years old in the nursery. What a joy that was. I have enjoyed all the callings I have been given through out the years.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I draw closer to My Father in Heaven by reading the scriptures and through prayer. If I an dilligent in this I can feel the spirit filling by soul with His love and I feel closer to Him. I know my Father in Heaven loves me and cares for me and is aware of me and who I am and what I am going through in my life. Show more Show less
