Hi I'm Spencer

I served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Argentina. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I recently graduated from Brigham Young University at Provo, Utah with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Now I am working hard to provide for my wife and daughter with another child on the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the one true church and that God has called a prophet through which he leads and guides it. I know that God called the prophet Joseph Smith and commanded him to translate the Book of Mormon and that the Book of Mormon contains the word of God. When I was a teenager I wanted to know if the Book of Mormon was true. I prayed and prayed for a month or more to know if it was true. Finally, when I was pondering on it at a conference, I received a clarity of thought and could feel in my heart that the Book of Mormon was true. Now I know the Book of Mormon is true with a surety because I feel it in heart every time I read and think about it. Since I know the Book of Mormon is true, I also know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he truly did restore God's one true church on the earth having received the power and authority from God to do so.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday and during the week I try to live what I have learned at church. I do that by standing up for what I believe in, wherever I may be, like, on the road, in a meeting, or at an event. The people that get to know me know that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I respect of other's beliefs and enjoy sharing my beliefs with others.

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

Church is the usual place we go to learn about the teachings of Jesus Christ. Although we also learn teachings of Jesus Christ in the temple, the temple is more sacred to us and is where we go to make extra promises with the Lord. Marriage is one of those things that takes place in our temples. In marriage we promise to the Lord that we will be faithful to one another. The Lord in return promises great blessings.
