Hi I'm Quinn

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

About Me

I am a husband and a father. Our family lives in the United States. We have one child so far, a baby boy. I work for an internet company. I have two younger sisters. My parents and siblings are also members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I grew up in the United States and Singapore and have also lived in mainland China and Hong Kong. My time in Hong Kong was spent serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My favorite things to do are spending time with friends and family, reading, running, travelling and learning other languages.

Why I am a Mormon

God has revealed to me through the Holy Ghost that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints possesses the authority to perform saving ordinances, such as baptism, that will allow me to return to live with Him. The Holy Ghost will confirm truth by giving you a feeling of peace and assurance. When I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon, I can feel that the words speak truth about God, our Heavenly Father, and His son, Jesus Christ. The power to act in God's name was lost when Jesus Christ and the apostles were killed. A long period of confusion led to the creation of many Christian denominations with differing doctrines. The power to act in God's name was restored to the earth by God, through the prophet Joseph Smith in 1829. This power is required to perform sacred ordinances such as baptism and the sacrament. The Book of Mormon, an ancient and sacred text translated by Joseph Smith, is evidence that he was a true prophet and that our Heavenly Father has restored the fullness of the gospel to the earth through him. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is built upon the principles and ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is led by the Savior through the same organization that existed anciently: 12 apostles, quorums of seventy, and other priesthood offices that work under His direction by revelation through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

My faith is an integral part of my life. I am actively involved in Sunday meetings at the local congregation I attend. My current assignment in the congregation is to help members feel comfortable and motivated to share their beliefs with friends, and to work with the full-time missionaries that serve in our area to coordinate the teaching of members' friends and family. Another way I live my faith is by visiting a few members each month just to talk, see if they need help with anything, and share a spiritual thought. This has led to many close friendships over the years.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Absolutely not. We worship only God. Joseph Smith is a prophet through whom God has revealed many important truths. Prophets throughout time, such as Moses and Isaiah, have helped us to know about God and come closer to Him. God leads us back to His presence through prophets. We revere and respect prophets and follow their words (which are God's words), but we do not worship prophets. Show more Show less
