Hi I'm Luke

I am a teacher in Phoenix working to close the achievement gap, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to travel, I have been to, and lived in Chuuk Micronesia for 2 years, Cheng Du, China for 4 months, and Hua Lian Taiwan for 4 months. I speak 4 languages, Chuukese (fluent), Chinese (proficient), Spanish (proficient), and English (fluent). I love sports esp. soccer and football (American football), and volleyball. If I could be anywhere in the world right now it would be on a beautiful white beach with my wife and baby, and our families playing beach soccer, or beach volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I could find no other religion on Earth that encourages me to have as personal a relationship with God the Father and Jesus Christ as this one. I am a Mormon because I have found no other religion on Earth that sanctions as in depth a knowledge of the Holy Bible as this one. I am a Mormon because it is one of the few religions which will stand up for what is right in these the latter days, where men call good evil, and evil good. I am a Mormon because I want to live with God, and become a joint ere with Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving my wife and baby boy, and by trying to teach others by example that all people have in common the spirit of humanity. I work every day to spread that message so that people will eventually realize that no matter race, color, or creed, all people share one thing in common...life. I try to live my faith, by living for Christ and doing as much as I possibly can to stem the tide of evil that is saturating, and degrading society.

What is the difference between attending a Mormon Church and a Mormon Temple?

The biggest difference between attending a Mormon church and Mormon temple is that the temple is set apart as a sacred edifice where you make two way promises with God. All of these promises are found in the bible, and it is true that we do make promises in the church as well, but the ones made in the temple are a little more all encompassing. Show more Show less
