Hi I'm Jimmie Hughes

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I grew up in NM. I have a beautiful wife. We were married in the Logan, UT temple. I have one older sister. I have the greatest parents in the world. I really enjoy the outdoors. I am currently studying Range Science and Wildlife Management. I enjoy just about any sport. I served a mission on the east coast of canada for two years.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm mormon because when I was growing up, though I was a member, I never really had anything to do with the church. When I was in college I realized that everyone around me saw me as being something that I wasn't. I found myself making the decision to find out what the church was and if I wanted to be a part of it or to get rid of the title. I read the book of mormon for the first time and for the first time in way to long, I prayed. I asked to know if the book of mormon was true. After I prayed I felt something I never had before experienced. I now know what that was and I feel it all the time... Happiness.

How I live my faith

I try to keep the commandments everyday and I try to be nice to everyone. I go to church every sunday possible and I try to read the scriptures and pray everyday.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

Jimmie Hughes
I can think of no greater possiblity of friendship and true love in this life, than the opportunities available to a husband and wife. A husband and a wife, TOGETHER, have a sacred responsibility given to them in having children. They should give every honorable effort in providing for and raising those children with love and righteousness. They are the examples. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Jimmie Hughes
Members of this faith do not worship Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith was a great man and deserving of much respect and gratitude. Called of God, Joseph Smith did many great and wonderful things. For someone having little knowledge of how meaningful those things are to the Mormon people, it might be easy to confuse a deep sense of gratitude and thanks for the attitude of worship. However sincere the gratitude or thanks may be, it should not be confused with worship, as we would do for the Savior, Jesus Christ or our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
