Hi I'm Erin.

I love being a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a writer. I am a pianist. I am a singer. I am a mother of 3 beautiful children and wife of 1 handsome husband. I am trying to enter the exciting and terrifying world of homeschooling my kids. I am a traveler. I do silly voices. I love the library. I want to learn to speak Chinese. I am 32 years old and my life's voyage is just beginning.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been talking to God since I was a little girl and have never doubted he is there, listening to me and caring about my life. The same good feelings that come to me when I pray also come when I hear about modern-day prophets, when I read The Book of Mormon, and when I try to make Christ-like choices in my daily living. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy and I want my family to be happy with me!

How I live my faith

It was scary when I entered the world of full-time motherhood. On a daily basis I feel overwhelmed, underprepared, and inadequate but the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches me to try again, to do better & better every day, and to remember we have a Heavenly Father who loves us all. Peace and tranquility can be lost so easily with small children in the home, but it can also be regained just as quickly by saying prayers or singing a simple hymn, even something as simple as expressing love to each other or appreciation for our blessings. I live my faith by sharing truth with my children every day.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

One of the greatest blessings of my life is to belong to the great organization of the Relief Society.  The purpose of the Relief Society is to assist the holders of the priesthood in their work. I have had opportunities to serve in various leadership positions within the Relief Society and each time I know that I do walk hand-in-hand with those holding the priesthood. Just as a man has his role to be a father and a woman has her role to be a mother, so we share roles of leadership in the church. Currently, my husband and I have the great blessing of serving as Sunday School teachers each week, leading a class in gospel and scriptural discussion. Belonging to Relief Society also provides me with an opportunity to strengthen and be strengthened by my neighbors, my sisters, my friends. It is a safe haven, a place I can go each week on Sunday to fill my spiritual well and sustain me throughout the week. Show more Show less
