Hi I'm Whittlee

I'm from Gilbert, Arizona. I am a wife, an interior designer, and a Mormon.

About Me

At this stage in my life I am busy working, spending time with my husband and extended family and also exploring my interests. I am an avid "To-Do List" maker. I like to work hard and play hard. My husband and I like to watch movies and retro T.V. shows on Netflix, spend time with our siblings, and go camping with family. I love all things creative. Experimenting with my sewing machine and Bosch makes me happy. I enjoy browsing design blogs and doing fun projects to make my apartment a home. I also enjoy reading and playing volleyball.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy. I know that I am a daughter of God. I know that He is aware of me and that He loves me. Knowing these two truths gives me confidence. I have developed this knowledge by reading the Book of Mormon and studying the life of Jesus Christ. The First Presidency of the Church created a document called The Living Christ, which shares their testimonies of the reality of Jesus Christ (http://lds.org/languages/LivingChrist/LivingChristEnglish.pdf). When I was in high school, I made it a goal of mine to memorize this document. As I studied these words that testify of the divinity of Jesus Christ I felt my testimony of Him grow. It was great because as I worked on this goal my thoughts were more focused on Jesus Christ. Throughout my day I would think about the different lines I was currently memorizing and thinking about Christ more brought me peace. Since then, my testimony of Jesus Christ has continued to grow as I've faced different trials. It is so comforting to me to know that God sent His son, Jesus Christ, to atone for my sins. Because Christ died for me, I can repent of my sins and try to become more like Him each day. I also know that God hears and answers my prayers. Prayer is a wonderful gift. When I have days where I feel like no one understands what I'm going through, I kneel down on my knees and pray. Without fail, as I pray I am comforted and I can feel the love that Heavenly Father has for me. All of these reasons and more, are why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Each Sunday my husband and I have the opportunity to teach children who are between the ages of 8 and 9 years old primary lessons. This year we are studying the New Testament in the Bible. Each week we get to prepare lessons on a variety of topics (prayer, the life of Jesus Christ, gratitude, etc.) and share them with 5 8 and 9 year old kids. This gives us an opportunity to study these topics as a couple. This is fun for us as we don't have any kids of our own yet. It's great parent preparation!
