Hi I'm Mary

I am a wife, mother, and math teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Utah with my wonderful husband and 3 beautiful children. I have a great family and great friends. I'm busy teaching Math full time at a high school while earning a Master's degree in Education. I enjoy singing and playing the piano, reading, hanging out with my animals (cats and alpacas), and learning how to cook new vegan dishes.

Why I am a Mormon

I come from a large family with different challenges and experiences. Despite these challenges, all of my siblings and parents have happiness and joy in their lives. Our happiness comes from our belief in Jesus Christ. We know that as a family we will return to a loving Heavenly Father. As we get together often, we strengthen and help each other. I spent just less than 18 months as a missionary in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where I met many people who wondered about the meaning of life. I was overjoyed to spend everyday of that mission sharing with them the love and mercy which Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for each of us. We all can have joy and happiness in our lives!

How I live my faith

I love working with any youth. They always have great questions about life and the future. It's great when you can get them to smile and laugh. You can see their day brighten when you tell them how glad you are to have them around. I also love to sing with others in my community and church because it keeps my heart soft and I feel near to God.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Yes, we believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. We know that God has revealed many important words and commandments to his prophets, including Isaiah and Moses. Since we believe in prophets today who are called of God, ordained with the Priesthood, we continue to receive revelation through their inspired words which support the teachings of the Bible. The Bible testifies of Jesus Christ and is a companion to the Book of Mormon, another testimony of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
