Hi I'm Lara

I grew up in Alabama, so I'm a southern belle. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I took piano lessons for 13 years before I attended college to receive my degree. I love all types of music except for country:) I come from a very large family and have over 30 first cousins. I have been married for three wonderful years.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all of my life and so I would like to tell you why I continue to be a Mormon now that I am an adult and I'm deciding all by myself if I will get up and go to church on Sunday. I know that this church is true. I know that Jesus Christ died for me and for you and that he loves me. I know that the Book of Mormon was translated by the prophet Joseph Smith and that it is another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know that the priesthood has been restored on the Earth and that we have modern day prophets that tell us what our Heavenly Father would have us do in our lives. Thomas S. Monson is the true and living prophet today. I continue to live the gospel and stay a member of this church because I find joy in my life through living its teachings. I feel closer to my Savior daily when I read the Book of Mormon. My relationships with my family, my husband, and my colleagues are better when I am living the gospel daily.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to work with children in the different wards I have lived in. I have worked in music by playing the piano and by leading the singing time every Sunday. We sing songs about the beauty of the Earth, our Savior Jesus Christ, the prophet, and so much more. We put motions to the songs and play games in order to learn the words. I worked with children ages 18 months to 11 years old.

Are Mormons Christians?

Good question. I know that this is under debate right now. Yes, we are Christian. The full name of the church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We believe that Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem and the His mother was Mary. We believe that He suffered in Gethsemane for each and every one of us and then was crucified on the cross. He was resurrected three days later. We look to Him for guidance, peace, and forgiveness. I know He lives. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

This is such an important topic. I love my husband and family so much and I cannot imagine being parted form them. Yes, husband and wife can be together forever. Temple marriages are for all time, including after death. Parents that have been married in the temple that have children can live with their children again after death. This is such a comforting knowledge because it means that death isn't the end of marriage or family:) Show more Show less
