Hi I'm Kathy

I'm a Mormon. I'm a retired school teacher, a gardner, a quilter and a grandma.

About Me

I am a mother of six. My husband and are empty nesters. We enjoy the pleasure of most of our family's company on a frequent basis. Two of our children and their families live out of state and we miss seeing them so often. I live in Utah. I am a teacher and I love being a homemaker. I garden and do family history and I'm learning to quilt and crochet. My husband and I like to hike and visit our children out of state.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me with a knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My mother, particularly, was a powerful example for me growing up and I knew she was devoted to the Gospel. As I grew up, through my own study and prayer and life experiences, I came to know for my self it was true. To some degree, I think it was a spiritual gift from a very young age to have a testimony of Jesus Christ and his importance in my life. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the foundation of my life upon which all other blessings in my life have been given meaning and purpose. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know we are led by a prophet today, Thomas S. Monson. Through him, we are given revelation that blesses my life and all others who faithfully follow it. I have lived long enough to see prophecy fulfilled on many occasions. The Book of Mormon is true. It is another witness of Jesus Christ and when I read it, I feel my heart is being prepared to receive him when he returns to rule and reign on the earth. I know Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers.

How I live my faith

In recent years I have spent a lot of time working with the youth. I am currently teaching six year olds and I have a cute class. I visit the children who miss class on a regular basis and tell them that I miss them when they don't come. I also visit teach three sisters in my ward and try to serve them in difficult times they may be experiencing. Most weeks I attend the temple as well and I feel blessed for my service there.

We believe that if we are faithful we will inherit all that the Father has. We will become joint heirs with Christ. We believe that life will have no end. Our personal growth will have no end. There will be no more separation from those people we hold most dear. Most important, our family will have no end. We will have eternal increase and enjoy the opportunity to have children forever. We will become as God is. Show more Show less
