Hi I'm John Joseph Franco

I'm a Mormon boy and proud of it:-

About Me

Hi!!! My name is John and yes, I’m Mormon and proud of it – I currently work as an Information Security System Officer and am looking at retirement within the next year or so. I still plan to work part-time and devote my time to service to others. I have a beautiful wife of over 30 years, 5 wonderful children, an amazing son-in-law and a beautiful and talented daughter-in-law – I have 2 grandchildren that I miss so much and hope to travel to see them as often as I can. I love to read and do research on spiritual topics – I feel that we can never get too much of an understanding of things and how they really are – I pray often for the inspiration of the Lord to be with me as I do this. I love to help other and feel its an obligation that we all have to follow the council in Matthew 25. My wife and I are getting interested in the Civil War and have started visiting battlefields on weekends.

Why I am a Mormon

On Christmas of 1983 my wife and I exchanged bibles and we started reading them. We discovered that there were many things in the Bible that were not being practiced in our church or were in contradiction to what was being said in the Bible. We were very concerned and spoke to a neighbor of ours. These wonderful neighbors told us that they didn’t have all the answers to our questions, but that they could help us. They invited us to visit the LDS Temple Visitor's Center in Washington DC. We agreed to go. At the Visitor Center they explained to us about their church – they explained that a young boy named Joseph Smith had questions about which church to join – Joseph studied the bible and was directed to ask God for the answer – so he went into the woods and prayed – well – the rest of the story is too long for here – but to say the least – Joseph Smith was visited my both Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ – Joseph received future messages from the Lord and on April 6, 1930 the Church was formed. I am a Mormon because I, like Joseph Smith, had questions and concerns about which church was right – I was able to relate to his questions – and I too prayed – and I received an answer to that prayer - that it was right to join with the Mormons – My wife and I were baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on April 10, 1984.

How I live my faith

Having been so blessed by the Lord that I find it’s important for me to give all that I have to the Lord – after all, my Heavenly Father has blessed my family so much over the years. I serve the Lord in anyway that I can, from teaching Gospel lessons, to babysitting so that others can attend meetings, visiting people in their homes and sharing a gospel message and physical labor if I can. I also travel to different wards within our area and give talks in church to uplift and testify of Christ.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

John Joseph Franco
Families are eternal – Eternal – which means forever – never ending – We believe that we can always have an eternal family through the sealing power of the Priesthood in the Temple of the Lord. Show more Show less
