Hi I'm James

I am an analyst and developer. I enjoy being a father, being active, and making friends. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married to the sweetest woman in the world, Sadielyn. We learn a lot from each other and from our two beautiful children. As a family, we enjoy reading books, eating ice cream, going on walks, and just good old play time. My favorite time of day is when I come home from work and I'm greeted by my two kiddos. I love to chase them and tickle them as they scramble or try to tackle me. I currently work as an analyst and developer building internal tools for my organization. I get excited seeing the value that technology can bring to an organization. I enjoy studying and learning new things. I like to keep up on the news and learn about the world around me. I also enjoy volunteering and helping make the world around me a better place. I served as a missionary in Belo Horizonte, Brazil and grew to love and admire the people. I dabble a little in music. I enjoyed studying the cello through high school and I also play the piano. Although I am not highly talented, I love playing.

Why I am a Mormon

I am grateful to my Heavenly Father for the opportunity He has given me to come to know Him through various experiences in my life. I know through the power of the Holy Ghost that Jesus Christ is my savior and that he died for my sins. The Lord has such an infinite love for me and I continue to learn about him by studying his gospel. I know that as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have access to the fullness of the gospel. By studying the words of ancient prophets found in the Bible and Book of Mormon, and by studying the words of modern prophets, I continue to learn of God and his eternal plan of happiness. Most importantly, when I was baptized in the church, I received the Gift of the Holy Ghost; through the power of this gift I can come closer to my Heavenly Father and know of his will. I love the opportunities to serve my fellow man. As a member of the church, I have many opportunities to do as Jesus would by serving those around me. Only through diligent efforts can I develop the traits that will help me become like Jesus; as a Mormon, the church helps me to know how to direct my efforts. I know that as I continue to live and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, trusting in Him as my Savior, I will one day return to the presence of God. As a Mormon, I enjoy the peace and comfort that comes from relying on Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Although I am not perfect, I try my best to live my faith everyday. Each morning, I start my day with a prayer to God, thanking Him for the infinite blessings he has bestowed upon me. I also ask for strength and wisdom to do the things that I know are right and to know how I can serve him. Before I leave the house each morning, my wife and I read the scriptures and pray together with our children. We also pray together before we go to bed at night. We feel blessed by the spirit of the Lord as we include him in our daily routine. We are very grateful for all of his many wonderful blessings. I love going to church each Sunday. I enjoy learning through the spirit of God and always leave church feeling edified and with a stronger desire to follow Jesus. I enjoy participating in Sunday School and also learning from what others have to say. In the past, I enjoyed serving the church by leading the men's service organization. I helped to make sure that each member of the church was cared for and had someone to go to in a time of need. I also helped organize community service projects such as grounds keeping in a public area. Although I no longer lead the organization, I still enjoy serving by regularly visiting families in the congregation. If they ever need a helping hand, I stand ready and willing to jump in. I currently serve as the scoutmaster for a boy scout troop chartered by my congregation. I love working with the young men and helping them develop skills and character traits that help them become men of God. I learn a lot from the boys too. That's the beauty of service in God's work - we all learn from each other as we try to live as God would have us live. I am grateful for the opportunities that I have in the church to learn about Jesus by going about doing good. I still fall short, but I know through Jesus Christ, I can become perfected. The way to him is striving to live my faith the best I can.
