Hi I'm Will Dickerson

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 22 years old, and I'm a full time student. I'm from a little town a little outside of Cincinnati. I love football, and I'm forever dedicated to the Bengals. I'm getting married to a wonderful girl. I play the drums, and I love listening to music. I speak Italian, and love eating Italian food.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 14, I had an incredible experience at a youth camp sponsored by the LDS church, and I knew in that moment that what this particular church had to offer was extremely special. Striving to live according to the teachings of this church has truly helped me be happy in every-day life. I couldn't imagine my life without it. There are so many answers that this church has to offer that other churches simply don't have. I love this church.

How I live my faith

I try my best to be honest with everyone. For example, I know that at work I have to do my best, even when I don't want to. I love the fact that I read the scriptures daily, because it helps me find answers to life's questions that frankly science or logic alone cannot provide. The relationship that I've developed with God is probably my favorite outcome of living my faith. Through prayer, scripture study, church attendance and service, I feel very comfortable coming to my Heavenly Father with questions and concerns. I feel very close to Him, and that is incredible.

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Will Dickerson
As a church, we believe that God loves all of His children. Despite all of our follies and shortcomings, our Heavenly Father loves us with an infinite amount of love. He will never stop loving us. However, He does not always approve of what we do. God cannot tolerate sin, and in the scriptures He has told us what actions will only bring sorrow. Sins that God has warned us of are illegal drug use, adultery, murder, theft and others. Homosexuality is among those listed as sins in the eyes of God. If we choose to sin, obviously we are guilty before the Lord. However, God in His infinite wisdom has sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to offer us a way out of sin through repentance and complete forgiveness. The church understands that many people have inclinations towards forming a homosexual relationship. However, as a church, we also believe that the Lord can help us escape any trial and overcome any sin, whether in this life or the next. Scripture references include Ether 12:27, 1 Corinthians 10:13. As a church, we believe that people who have same sex attraction can receive help from trained professionals, and that God will help them overcome this obstacle. Everyone will have the opportunity to be married to a spouse of the opposite gender whom they love whole heartedly, and begin a family. That is God's plan of happiness in action. Show more Show less
