Hi I'm Kyrie

I will stay up all night to read a good book. I love rainy days and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently studying American Studies. However, I love learning about the world. I traveled around Europe and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I also love everything about music. I like singing, playing the piano, and I'm trying to learn the Ukulele right now.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon faith. Why do I continue being Mormon? I know it's true. One day a church I had a teacher who handed me a piece of paper and said for all of us to write down our testimonies or things we knew to be true. I sat there for the longest time looking at that blank piece of paper. It was then that I became determined to have something to write on that piece of paper. I was going to find out what exactly this was all about. As my search began, I never had a big experience that told me that The Book of Mormon was true, Joseph Smith was a prophet, or if indeed there was a living prophet on the earth today. It was all the little things that helped me see. I remember my mom singing songs to me at night and the warmth I felt in my heart. I remember going to church and learning that I am a child of God. It came through the feelings in my heart and the thoughts that came to my mind. It came through study, prayer, and diligently seeking to know if it was true. I know that our Heavenly Father wants us to be happy. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know Joseph Smith went into a grove of trees and saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet today. This knowledge gives me peace and comfort to know that "God is not dead nor doth He sleep". He loves all His children and that's why He has restored the truth on the earth again.

How I live my faith

One thing I love about my faith is Visiting Teaching. The women 18 and older are paired together and are assigned a sister or two to watch over. I have loved getting to know these women I might not have gotten to know. It's a way to build relationships and to serve others.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

"Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy." We live in a fallen world and we are imperfect beings which separates us from the presence of our Heavenly Father. He wants us to be happy and to live with Him again so He provided the Atonement of Jesus Christ so we may be able to live in His presence again. This was made possible because Jesus was a perfect being. No other sacrifice would do. We allow the Atonement to work in our lives by repenting and making covenants with the Lord. It is possible to be happy right here and now! Our Savior has provided the way if we'll come unto Him. Show more Show less
