Hi I'm Howard

I'm a father of 6 children including 2 sets of twins and we're Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Northern Illinois along the Mississippi River. I love to golf, fish, camp, work with boy scouts, and play with my kids when possible. I'm married to my high school sweetheart and we have 6 children including two, yes two sets of twins. I am also a Grandfather with two wonderful grandsons and one more grandchild on the way. In my profession I am the President of a Swedish nuclear consulting company here in the US which keeps me very busy with international travel. But I enjoy the work I do and the opportunity I have to mentor young engineers within our business. Traveling around the world has provide an opportunity to interact and work with people of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. I find this amazing and exciting.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon not because of my parents or my family but because I gained my own testimony. As a teenager I had many questions and sought for answers from many sources. I also had the opportunity to visit many other churches as I participated in a traveling choir. Visits to other churches didn't really bring me any answers. It only raise more questions like how can there be so many churches if there is one God. I also questioned how so many churches could claim to have the authority to preach the work of God. I found my answer as I studies the scriptures. I studied the Bible and then the Book of Mormon. What I found was not an intellectual knowledge but I discovered a spiritual feeling that was constantly there when I read the Book of Mormon. I found that together the Bible and the Book of Mormon provided me with the total picture of God's plan for me and my family. I knew at that moment that the Mormon Church was true and was led by God through a living prophet. I have never doubted my decision to remain Mormon. I love my God and our Savior Jesus Christ. I know they love me too and I strive every day to repay that love and Christ sacrifice for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by looking for ways to serve others. Even as a young boy I loved it when we would find ways to help other people in our neighborhood and community. I strive to live like Jesus would and look for ways to bless the lives of others. Which really has blessed my life in return. I've worked as a youth leader at church and in the community for many years and have enjoyed watching these young me and women grow into terrific adults.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Howard
Absolutely not. I personally look for opportunities to help anyone in need and I know that the Mormon church has donated cash, food, clothing, and other material goods to man people across the world. I personally experienced and observed this help during hurricane Katrina while living in South Mississippi. The actions and support of the Mormon Church was amazing. No other organization moved so quickly and provided so much. The members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints truly live and follow the example of our Savior by feeding the hungry, the poor, and the afflicted. Show more Show less
