Hi I'm Kathy

I am a wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mother of five children. When I am able to find spare time, I enjoy reading, listening to music, and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but I didn't know for myself that the church was true until I was 16. I was at a difficult point in my life and began questioning everything that I had been taught. I felt rebelious and angry. I had a testimony of Jesus Christ and knew that He was my Savior, but I didn't believe that this was His church, and didn't want to be called a "Mormon". I believed the promise in James chapter one, that if I wanted to know if something was true, I could pray and God would answer me. I decided to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. I fully expected to prove that my parents and church leaders were wrong. I read and prayed with real intent. I wanted to know the truth for myself and I knew that God would answer me. The answer that I received was completely unexpected. I felt overwhelming love and peace from my Heavenly Father. The spirit testified, in an unmistakable way, that the Book of Mormon is true and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is also true. My testimony has been strengthened in countless ways during the years since my conversion. I am amazed every day at how much my Savior loves and blesses me.

How I live my faith

I serve wherever I am asked at church and in the community. I try to be an example of the believers in everything that I do. My main focus each day is trying to have a Christ centered home. The world has become an increasingly scary place during the last few decades. I want to protect myself and my family from negative influences that would tear us apart. Each day we make the time to gather together as a family to pray and study the scriptures. On Monday nights we ignore the phone and turn off the TV so that we can spend time having fun together and learning about Jesus Christ. These simple things bring a greater spirit of peace to our home and to our hearts, and fortify us against the storms of the world outside.
