Hi I'm Jeffrey

I am a Canadian husband and father. I am a student of math and philosopy and work as an accountant. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as an accountant in the coal mining industry but my passion is for my family, running, yoga and philosophy. My wife and I are the parents to three young daughters that are growing up too quickly. I have been running for a little less than a decade and have participated in many 10Km races and one half marathon. Although my favourite distance is the 10Km I would like to one day complete a marathon and even an Olympic triathlon. I am new to yoga and love it. It has become a real passion for me because it seems to be so good for both my body and my mind. I was a student of philosophy with a strong focus on logic. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life and was able to serve a full-time mission to the French West Indies from 2001-2003.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the teachings of the Church bring me peace and hope in spite of life's hardships. Trying to live as Jesus would have me has brought strength and joy to my family. I believe God has confirmed to me that the Church is true and He continues to lead me as I pray.

How I live my faith

Every day I try to take time to read from the Book of Mormon and pray to Heavenly Father. I pray to thank him for the good things in my life and to ask for help with the responsibilities that I have. I try to live up to promises that I have made to act like Jesus did. I spend lot's of time with my family. My wife and I teach our children and try and make a safe and loving home for them. On Sundays, I attend my local church meetings with my family. I have a responsibility for the finances of our local area congregations.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

God is our loving Heavenly Father. We lived with Him before we were born as his spirit children. He knew that in order to be happy like He is, we would have to come to Earth and live before returning to Him after we die. He knew that although our mistakes give us the experience we need to learn and grow, they would also prevent us from returning to Hum as clean and pure as we were when we left. In order for Him to extend mercy to us, justice had to be served. Someone would have to suffer the consequences of the mistakes we make. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, offered his perfect and pure life as a sacrifice to satisfy the demands of justice so that mercy could be offered to us. Show more Show less
