Hi I'm Scott

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

One thing about me is that I don't like to talk about myself much. As for hobbies; soccer is my favorite sport, and I enjoy watching football on TV. The Seattle Seahawks are my favorite team. I'm into computers as well. I hope to some day get a job in the computer and technology world.

Why I am a Mormon

My favorite verse of scripture is St. John 7:17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." How true that statement is! If we will just do what is taught by Jesus Christ we will just know if it is true or not. I know that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is true becuase I have lived by it, and have had the Spirit of God conferm to me that it is true!

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am currently serving the people of Nevada (USA). I do my best to bring them the good news of Jesus Christ's restored gospel.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Scott
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" (Ephesians 2:7) This scripture is true. Grace is something freely given. God has freely given us the tools we need to be saved. He has given us this earth, our bodies, the gospel, the sacrafice of Jesus Christ. All of those things are given to us by the grace of God. If we exercise faith in those things we will be welcomed into God's kingdom. Grace is not something we can work to get. It is given to us freely. But we must work to exercise our faith. "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." (James 2:26) Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

Scott
The Book of Mormon is scripture similar to the Bible. It is a record of God's dealings with people here in America around the same time as the Bible. It contains the writings of God's prophets to these people, and testifies that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. Our Heavenly Father is "from everlasting to everlasting," (Psalm 90:2) and his words never cease. The Book of Mormon is proof that God still speaks to his children today through a living prophet, and will continue to reveal his gospel to us until his work is finished. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, for I have read it and it has brought me closer to Jesus Christ. I know that all who sincerely read this book with real intent to act will come to know that this is true if they pray and ask God. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Scott
We do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Following the teachings of Christ is how we accept him as our savior. During his life he set the perfect example for us that we should strive to follow. At the close of his life he made a great sacrifice for all. He suffered and died for all that all might be saved if they would exercise faith in him. I know that Jesus Christ lives today. He overcame death, and he loves us. He knows how to comfort us, and he will help us in our times of need if we will let him. Show more Show less
