Hi I'm Stuart

I grew up in Cornwall, UK. I work in I.T. I love Jesus Christ, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I've been working in software support for nearly 16 years. I'm married to a wonderful woman and together we share the emotional roller coaster of raising a family with all the joys and challenges that comes with that. I love music and enjoy listening to and playing music. I've played keyboards in a band for a few years now and love performing with them. I like to read and learn about other people. I love the countryside and try and get out and enjoy it when opportunity presents itself.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon for a number of reasons. I was brought up in the Mormon church by my parents who demonstrated by their examples that being a Mormon could bring understanding and happiness in a world that generally seemed confused and often very selfish. I was also fortunate to have a few good friends who lived good Christian lives but were not members of my church and they helped to strengthen my resolve to be Christ-like in my life, something which I often struggle with, but find most rewarding as I keep on trying. I grew up in an area with very few Mormons, and by my late teens, I needed to know for my myself that I was a child of God, that Jesus Christ was my Saviour, and that he had sent prophets to warn the world and teach them once again. After much sincere prayer, I gained the answers I needed and recalled a number of occasions when God's spirit had touched mine and left me with a witness of truth. It was such an exciting feeling, yet so peaceful, and even today, I continue to gain strength from that moment. Although the world in general may not recognise their authority, I am so grateful to know that we have prophets and apostles in the world today - these are good men who do all they can to bring people unto Christ and his redeeming love. The gospel of Jesus Christ continues to bless my life and enrich the lives of my family. It brings us safety and a degree of peace in an increasingly troubled world. It gives me perspective on life and my purpose in it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in keeping with the teachings of the Saviour, Jesus Christ. I try to follow His example by caring for people and I like to visit with other members in a program we call home-teaching. I love to teach others the good news of the Gospel. I enjoy working with the missionaries, and being with them when they teach people about how Jesus Christ has made it possible for families to be together forever.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Stuart
I think that because people are all so different, that different people increase their faith in Christ in different ways. Some ways that have helped me are: Spending time with other people who also believe in Christ, whether they belong to my church or not. Using the gift of repentance in my life Learning more about Him and his teachings from scripture Caring for and helping other people in my family, in my local church and in my community Show more Show less
