Hi I'm Laurie Anne

I'm a wife, mom, grandma, daughter and friend. Family, good music and learning new things are important to me. And...I'm a Mormon!

About Me

My husband and I have been married for 32 years. We have 5 daughters and 1 son. We also have 4 grandchildren! Music is an important and fun part of our whole family. I have played the piano for church for most of my life, since I was 12 I think! Over the years as I have been a part of the music at church and with my children, I have been blessed to meet and associate with so many wonderful people. I love doing creative things, reading good books and studying Spanish! I love languages and beautiful words. My kids know that I can't pass up a good game of Boggle! :)

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined the Mormon Church when I was a little girl. They sincerely wanted to know for themselves that this really was the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, and if families really could go on forever--not just for this life. I remember my mom telling me that when the missionaries were teaching them that "it just felt right", and she knew then that it was true. I am so grateful that I was then raised in the Mormon Church. I don't know where I would be without the hope, peace and guidance in my life that come from knowing who I am, why I'm here, and what will happen to me and my family after this life is over. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, and that He loves us and wants us to be happy. I know for myself that this is His true church and I am very thankful for the clear direction it gives me and my family through it's teachings. As I read the Book of Mormon and the Bible and pray for answers, it is confirmed to me over and over through the Spirit of the Holy Ghost that this is the truth.

How I live my faith

I want to live my life in a way that others can see the happiness and peace that come from loving each other, serving each other and having the true Gospel of Jesus Christ in your life. I try to share my feelings about the church and my love for Jesus Christ with anyone that wants to know. This isn't just my church, it's who I am in all parts of my life. I have always loved the Spanish language and wanted to learn to speak it. My husband and I are serving in a Spanish speaking ward at church right now---so I am learning! I love the people there so much! We both teach the youth there. I also serve in the church playing the piano for meetings, singing in choirs, and organizing musical programs. Our youngest two children are currently serving full time missions for the church. As our older children have gone forward as adults, they serve wherever they are needed in the church too. They carry on this legacy that their grandparents started in their own families now! One of my favorite scriptures is 3 John 14 - "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."
