Hi I'm Shaylyn!

I think laughter is the best medicine! I live life to the fullest and love with all my heart.. and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a 25 year old girl trying to live my life in a way that would make my Father in Heaven proud. I recently returned from serving a mission in Knoxville Tennessee. Serving the Lord for 18 months was the best thing I have ever done.. well besides marry my husband, of course! I love to laugh, sing, be with my family and friends and live life to the fullest. I was born into the church... But I haven't always had a testimony of its' truthfulness. I stopped going to church when I was about 18 because I wanted to see what else life had to offer. After some really hard experiences and some long hours on my knees, the Savior rescued me.

Why I am a Mormon

I learned that because of the Savior, Jesus Christ, and His Atonement, I can repent of my sins and be forgiven. I don't have to live with the guilt of things that I have done that were wrong. I know without a doubt that living by the commandments is the ONLY way to be truly happy. The commandments are there to protect us from all of the harmful things that this world has to offer. I know that the only way to make it through this life is to live by the standards taught by the Savior himself. "Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the words of Christ, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life. And now, behold, my beloved brethren, this the the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God. And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost which is one, without end. Amen." 2 Nephi 31: 20-21

How I live my faith

As a member for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I try to actually live what I believe. Walk the walk not just talk the talk. Life is hard sometimes and the world tells us that we can't be strong. Well I am proof that you can do it! You can rise above the filth of the world and live on a higher plain. This gospel has helped me see that I am truly a daughter of God and as such, I deserve so much more than what this world has to offer. I know that Heavenly Father knows me and loves me and is very interested in the minute details of my life. And that knowledge gives me the strength to press on!

What do Mormons believe about family?

Families are the most important social unit. We are able to learn and grow in a secure and loving enviornment. In families we teach the principles of the gospel: The importance of having faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. The need to repent and be baptized by someone holding the proper authority of God. The role that the Holy Ghost will play in leading us toward eternal life where we will live with God as families. Families can be together forever!! Show more Show less
