Hi I'm Melinda

Breaking the stereotype of the Filipina: I'm unusually tall. I do not have bangs. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Just graduated with my first real adult milestone - Associates Degree! And with perfect timing (as always...) I've been CALLED TO SERVE! Albuquerque, New Mexico Mission is where the Lord wants me to be, and I'm SO excited to be there. It's awesome being a Latter-Day Saint. :) A few of my faaavorite things! - competitive games of volleyball, badminton, and... pretty much anything with lots of energy and running around. Cooking beautiful food! Blogging on my Tumblr, and singing out loud in the car. What I love most: my 50 year old dad who still dives in volleyball games, my mom who dances to modern music that I listen to, my super responsible brother married to an equally responsible wife, my awesome brother serving his mission in Honolulu, Hawaii!, and my soooo cherished little brother who loves Hot Cheetos and backflips like it's a piece of cake.

Why I am a Mormon

Yes, I was "born this way", but I have chosen to REMAIN a Latter-Day Saint not by default, or choice by my parents. I LOVE being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The best thing about it is the comfort it gives me. Think of the darkest, most lonely time of your life, and wishing someone was there to alleviate the pain. The Gospel does this for me. I've been taught my purpose, along with specific instructions to attain happiness in the world after mortality. I'm living for more than just this life; I'm living for more than just myself. I know something beautifully amazing is awaiting beyond this world. I know this through being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The church group I attend is called a "branch". My branch has assigned me to be their pianist! So every Sunday morning for church, I get to do what I love most: play piano! Music is my quickest way to be closest to a peaceful spirit after a long, hectic day.
