Hi I'm Ashley

Hello friends! I am from Arizona in the USA but have lived all over. I know the Book of Mormon is true and you can too!

About Me

I am am happily married for time and all eternity to my wife Sandy and have a wonderful family. I am a techie by trade. I enjoy computers and other technologically advanced stuff. I am a musician love to sing barbershop and play Tuba. I enjoy serving in the church especially with the youth.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found through conversing with my Heavenly Father through prayer that the Book of Mormon is True. This knowledge has shaped my life and given me direction and guidance as I listen to the Holy Ghost and follow the truth he tells me as I ask and humble myself to hear. I was baptised as an 8 year old child but just as every member of the church must do I came to know that this is the Lords Kingdom on Earth today by personal independant confirmation from the Holy Ghost through prayer. That same knowledge will come to any who ask with a sincere heart, real intent, and having faith in Christ. This testimony along with the guidance of a living prophet and the scriptures as well as my desire to serve the Lord are why I am a mormon.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve as the Elder's Quorum President in the Harrogate Ward in the UK. Previously in Harrogate I was blessed to serve as the Sunday School President. I have served in the past as a Boy Scouts of America Varsity Scout Coach, Teachers Quorum Advisor, and 1st Councilor to our Young Men's President. In these roles I worked with Young Men from 14-16 helping them grow into successful leaders and humble followers of the Lord. I also received the pleasure of helping them work toward their Eagle Scout award, Duty to God progress, and their goals of serving as a full time missionary when they reach the age of 19 and are prepared to serve the Lord full time for two years. I served a mission myself to the New York Utica Mission when I was 19 and found it very rewarding for a lifetime and beyond. I am married eternally to my sweetheart and share the joy of our eternal family as well with our daughter. I try to share the gospel by example and by using "gospel terms" such as ward, stake, and temple in discussions with co-workers and friends. I never make a spectacle of myself or my faith, I just try to live the gospel daily and be an example to those around me so those who know me will want to know our Saviour Jesus Christ.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

Ashley
A ward or branch are what we call our local congregations. They are part of a Stake. There are an average of 5 to 10 wards or branches in a stake. The term stake is based on the scripture found in Isa. 54:2. The church is likened to a tent and the stakes hold the branches and with the cords being wards and branches. Together the stakes gather the tent and strenghten it much like stake of zion do for the church. They are located all over the world and serve to gather the saints in the local areas as one in the church and kingdom of God. Show more Show less
