Hi I'm Sherry

I'm a wife and mother to 6 children. I love my Savior and am grateful to be a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom to four boys and two girls and even though it's the most challenging thing I've ever done, I love it! My interests include spending time with my family, especially camping and hiking and I love to do digital scrapbooking. I also enjoy reading when I get the chance, but it doesn't happen too often at this point in time. I finished two years of college before getting married and having children. I look forward to the time when I can return to school and finish my degree, which will be when the kids are a bit older.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and am the descendant of Mormon pioneers. But around the age of 13, I went through some life-changing experiences and came to the realization that I needed to really know for myself whether or not this church I attended weekly and that I had heard others testify of, was really true. I began to read The Book of Mormon more intensely than ever before. In the beginning of this book it says, "Those who gain this divine witness from the Holy Spirit will also come to know by the same power that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, that Joseph Smith is his revelator and prophet in these last days, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s kingdom once again established on the earth.." I yearned for that witness. I got down on my knees and prayed to know if it was true. The warmth and joy that filled my heart are indescribable. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and an instrument in the Lord's hands in restoring the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. To have the gospel of Jesus Christ in the world we live in today is so comforting and it touches every aspect of my life. I have the inner peace that comes from knowing that we have an immensely loving Father in Heaven and Savior that are truly in the details of our lives. They truly love us and want us to be happy. That no matter what may happen in life, because of the Atonement of our Savior, all will be made whole and well again.

How I live my faith

My calling at this time is a Primary Teacher. I teach children ages 7 turning 8 years old during two hours of our three hour block of meetings. I am so grateful for the opportunity I have to teach and be taught by these fun and precious children! I love it!

What is faith?

Faith is a hope in something that is unseen but is true. It is believing without a perfect knowledge or understanding. Just one example, having faith that Jesus Christ came to Earth and atoned for our sins. Show more Show less

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes! We believe that husbands and wives through righteous living and being sealed in the Temple will, along with their children, be together forever. Those lost to death are not lost forever, they will be reunited again and be together eternally. My sister passed away several years ago and I am so grateful for the peace that comes from knowing I will see her and be with her again! Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

We believe that the family is the most important unit in society, in our church responsibilities, and in eternity. We believe family is the foundation of a successful society, and we believe the separate roles of mothers and fathers are sacred and equally important to the raising of children. Show more Show less
