Hi I'm Tracie

I love God. I love my family. I love life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time, stay-at-home mom who has just gone back to school after twenty years! Wow! I love learning! I also enjoy the arts, the outdoors, and getting lost in a good book, and feel enriched by teaching or by creating something beautiful. I love exploring new places, new cultures, and new people. With a newfound passion for family history, I would love someday to visit all the lands of my forefathers. I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and five teriffic kids. Life is full of lots of soccer games, basketball games, football games, play performances, concerts, and dance recitals. I love them all!

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contains a fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He stands at its head. In a world of shifting and deteriorating morals, it remains constant and sure, offering hope, peace, and direction amid the chaos, confusion, and turmoil of the day. Through the gospel, I've an understanding of my Heavenly Father’s plan for me---His plan for my happiness, redemption, and salvation---that centers on Jesus Christ, my Savior and Redeemer. Though I still struggle to fully understand the Atonement He offers, I know I'm its beneficiary each and every day. I've felt its power in my life, and praise the Lord for His mercy and grace! He lives! He knows me perfectly and loves me perfectly in spite of my weaknesses, failings, and mistakes. He provides the opportunity for me to repent, to be washed clean, and to be made new. I know that in the strength of the Lord I can “do, and endure, and overcome all things.” In this church, the nobility of womanhood and the sacred role of motherhood are recognized and revered. The sanctity of life, marriage, and the family are clearly defined. Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be together forever. What could be better than that? The gospel helps me understand my eternal potential as a daughter of God, and to recognize the worth of all souls. I have a testimony of the power of the priesthood, the restoration of the gospel, living prophets, The Book of Mormon. WHY AM I A MORMON? Really it comes down to this... I have studied the word of God. I have prayed. I have put the word to the test. And I have received powerful witnesses of the Spirit that these things are true. The gospel is true! The church is true! I don’t ever want to deny the light that I have been given, so I strive to live faithfully true to it. Doing so has brought me incredible peace, and great joy. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The more I learn about the Savior, the more convinced I am that the greatest measure of discipleship is how well one lives as He did --- in the service of others. Whether at home, at church, or in the community, there are so many opportunities to do so. Raising my children in love and righteousness, volunteering in their classrooms each week, feeding homeless families at our local shelter, participating in humanitarian projects that aid children in crisis, and simply helping neighbors in need, are just a few of the ways I find joy in service. With four boys of my own, I have enjoyed being actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America. I am currently serving as the Advancement Coordinator for the 50+ young men in our unit. How great to see them serving and progressing as they become valiant citizens and the strong, prepared, faithful men of tomorrow. I also have the opportunity of serving on our Stake Young Women’s Camp Committee, helping to plan and facilitate a summer camp that focuses on Jesus Christ. It is an amazing experience to see 300+ virtuous young women, ages 12-18, growing in confidence and courage as they come to better know their Savior. I love the youth so much, and am so grateful for every occasion that I can work with them! I also teach Gospel Doctrine in Sunday School. There we are able to study the scriptures and discuss the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is such a blessing to be able to teach and testify of eternal truths! I live my faith best when I apply those truths and put them to practice, because I know that when I am “in the service of my fellow beings I am only in the service of my God.”
