Karen: Mormon.

Hi I'm Karen

About Me

I am a Special Education Teacher and life-long learner. I have trained dogs for several years and enjoy teaching old dogs new tricks. I love being outdoors, reading/writing, cooking/baking, the arts, spending time with my husband, and, of course, shoe shopping.

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints simply because I know its true. Growing up, I often didn't know which way to turn for my spirituality. To make a very long story short, I prayed to know what I needed to do. My answer was clear as it burned in my heart, "Follow Christ." I know that Christ lives! I know that He died so that I might be forgiven for my lackings. I know that I am a daughter of God and that He loves me, as I have seen it so many times in my life. Because I have read the scriptures, put them to the test, and prayed about it, I know with a surety that this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ and that it has been restored to us by a Loving Heavenly Father through His prophets. I love this Gospel and its answers to my soul's questions.

Personal Stories

How has your knowledge of the Plan of Happiness changed/benefited your life?

Understanding that I am a Spirit daughter of a very loving Heavenly Father has helped me to love and appreciate myself. I have been able to recognize more of my talents and blessings as I strive to better myself each day. The Plan of Happiness makes sense to my soul and logic and has helped me understand the meaning of the scriptures and Gospel. The name of the Plan gives it away: it really is a Plan of Happiness for all people! :)

How I live my faith

I love being active, so service in the community and church is how I show my faith. As a Christian, I try to be kind and speak gently to people. Every month, I have the opportunity to visit with some other ladies in my congregation as part of the Visiting Teaching program. I enjoy going and chatting with the women and sharing a spiritual message with them.
