Hi I'm Dave

I have a degree in Science and a degree in Education. I teach jounior high school. I enjoy the earth sciences. I love the Lord.

About Me

I am a dad! My little girl was born in September 2009 my first boy in July 2011, and a third son April 2015. They are so sweet. I have completed a degree in science and a second degree in education. I teach Jounior high shop and maths in a small rural school in Alberta. I am a scout leader and love to ride my bike.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it blesses my wife and I to have the Priesthood in our home. In The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints every worthy male member can hold the priesthood and use it to bless their families. The understanding that our family is eternal influences everything we do.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday, I teach the youth. Once a week I try to visit those in our geographic area that are struggling with things or just need a visit. Once a month I visit the local assisted living complex to help the residents there.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

The Lord asks everyone to pay tithing in the Bible, his promise is that if we sacrifice for him he will bless us. Tithing, the 10% we give is used to build and maintain the Church property. Show more Show less

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Well the issue of homosexuality is a tough one for people to understand but I will try. We believe one of the primary reasons for families is to give mortal bodies to spirits, since it is not physically possible for same sex couples to do that naturally it sort of defeats the purpose. I don’t doubt that some people have strong physical attractions but we need to keep those attractions within the bounds that the Lord has set. I really do want my homosexual friends to be happy and I feel that there is a place for all in the church. Show more Show less
