Hi I'm Janine

I grew up in New Zealand and I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

About Me

Was born in the Waikato District and moved to and grew up in Auckland with my family in 1962, our parents, two sisters and two brothers. I enjoy getting together with others, and enjoy working with my hands.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that joining the Church was the best thing that I could have done, and am eternally greatful to the Missioniaries that taught me back in 1987. The missionaries that taught me the gospel were many in a short time but the two that played the biggest role were Elders Mark E Davie, from Gympie, Australia and Elder Bryce Boyce from Utah. My testimony of the gospel grows daily and is strengthened daily with the teachings that are ever available to us. I believe that through the teachings of our Saviour, we can indeed be eternal families, that if we live the life that He desires for us we can one day return home to our Heavenly parents and be reunited with family members that have passed on before us.

How I live my faith

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints in May 1987. Have served mostly in Young Womens and Relief Society. Young Womens is for girls from the age of 12-17 and then they move to Relief Society which is for all ladies 18 and over. Have been on wonderful camps and service projects with our YW and many activities with RS which include events where the ladies can show off the wonderful crafts they have created, musical talents, acting talents and many other skills. My husband and I go to church every Sunday and participate in other activities/ meetings during the week. I have been blessed over the past six years to be serving as Stake Relief Society President for our Papakura Stake (area).

What is the Relief Society?

Relief Society is an organisation for ladies 18 years and older. It is the longest running womens organisation in the world to my knowledge. We get-together every Sunday and learn together the principles of the Gospel and especially to know how to have a close relationship with our Saviour and our Heavenly Father. We also get-together for activities where we learn many different skills from homemaking to mechanics. We work together to ensure that everyone has all that they stand in need of. We help each other learn the importance of living a clean and moral life. We help our young mothers with their newborn to ensure they are comfortable and know that they have someone to call on if they need help. These are just a very few of the attributes of Relief Society. Show more Show less
