Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a father of 4, a Human Resources Professional, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to sing, create and compete, spend time with my wife and 4 children, and seek and learn truth through the scriptures and uplifting discussion about humanity. I have a great appreciation for my ancestors who worked hard and set great examples for those who came after them.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not a Mormon because my parents were, but that helped to give me the choice of selecting this path. I learned for myself as an 18-year-old through reading and applying the teachings of the Book of Mormon. It changed my life and brought a peace, fulfillment and happiness that was beyond anything I had previously felt. Later in life, as I encountered bigger challenges, I consciously turned my life over to Jesus Christ. I learned that his promises are true - "Ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you". I learned that he is waiting for me to rely on him and to allow him to change my heart. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides a framework for me to truly turn my life and will over to him. To me, Mormonism is about truth, centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Similar to the scientific approach, we can all take information or principles that we are taught, take action to experiment on that principle to see if it produces a desired result. This practice allows us to not have blind faith, but faith based on experience and experiment. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the source of truth for all who take on this experiment.

How I live my faith

I participate in my church by teaching and encouraging other church members to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in simple ways with friends, family and acquaintances. I love the sabbath day. I see great blessings from paying tithing. I appreciate having committed, personally, to living to a high standard. Its a challenge, but as with all difficult things, it's worthwhile.

Are Mormons Christians?

Jeff
I'm not sure that everyone has the same definition of the word Christian. What I AM sure of, is that the most important thing that I can do as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is follow and believe Jesus Christ. I can study his life as recorded in the Gospels of the New Testament, learn from his teachings and example and try to follow this example. An most of all, I can place faith in him to turn my life over to him and accept him as my personal Saviour. As was simply taught by an ancient prophet in the Book of Mormon, "I glory in plainness; I glory in truth; I glory in my Jesus, for he hath redeemed my soul from Hell." Show more Show less
