Hi I'm Timothy

I love computers and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like computers and technology-related things. I have been studying Computer Science in college, and I like to "try things out" for fun in my spare time. I built my own computer several years ago, and I've been working on it and tinkering with it ever since. I like to read about how things work and how to "do-it-myself." I've messed up different computers at different times by tinkering around, with both hardware and software, but nothing a little time and manual-reading can't fix! So far, anyway. Actually, I've learned more while trying to fix problems than anything else. I also love music. My music collection includes anything that sounds good to me, so there are a lot of different styles and sounds. Music has this power to just make me excited or give me a boost after a long day. So I listen to music quite often, especially in the car. I can play a little guitar and piano myself, but I'm not super good at either yet. However, I really love singing. I even sang in choir at church for a little bit, and enjoyed it. I also like to try my hand at writing songs to play and sing.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all my life. Early on, I learned truths about Jesus Christ and family values in a loving home. Now, on my own, I've tested what I learned by continuing to read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and by praying to my Heavenly Father to know what is true. I feel that Christ's gospel has helped me find happiness in my everyday life. When I try my best to live the type of life He wants me to live, I feel His love and support for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a good person every day. Being a Mormon, to me, is just part of who I am, not anything special that I do. I know that I'm supposed to follow Christ's example and his commandments, so there are things that I do or don't do because of my faith. I do go to church weekly and read scriptures, and I'm careful about the music that I listen to. I have noticed that what I listen to often stays in my head or comes to mind at odd times, so I want to listen to songs that are positive and uplifting. I chose to serve a full-time mission to share this faith with others. Which means taking a break from college and hobbies for two years to go out and visit with people. The gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed me a lot, and I have seen it bless the lives of others too, so I want to do my part in spreading the word.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Jesus Christ's grace is what ultimately 'saves' us, because of the great sacrifice He performed. Only through Jesus Christ can we be made clean or holy enough to return to the Father after this life. Everything we do in the church helps us to prepare ourselves to receive the most from this great gift. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is a testament, or witness of Jesus Christ. It teaches us that we must follow Christ to be saved and find happiness. The Book of Mormon also shows us how to follow Jesus Christ and His gospel. It describes principles of the gospel and gives examples of blessings that come from following the commandments. The Book of Mormon is a record kept by an ancient civilization in the Americas who knew and followed Jesus Christ. Today, we use the Book of Mormon as a companion to the Bible in helping us understand our purpose in life. By studying and praying about the Book of Mormon, you can recieve a witness for yourself that it is true. Show more Show less
